The Future of AR and IoT on Display at LiveWorx

June 13, 2016

LiveWorx, the premier IoT event, just wrapped up in Boston last week and ThingWorx had a strong showing throughout. The thousands of attendees to the show and viewers of the LiveWorx LIVE livestream heard from leaders in the industry about the power and importance of the platform, starting with PTC CEO Jim Heppelmann’s opening keynote.

In his speech, Heppelmann outlined the vision of how PTC is bringing IoT and AR to the enterprise using industrial connectivity by Kepware, IoT platform capabilities like rapid application development and data analytics by ThingWorx, and augmented reality experiences with Vuforia. The audience also saw live demonstrations of this 360-degree ecosystem in action with customer demos by Caterpillar and Flowserve.

The IoT Plaza featured customer and partner demos that ranged from training and service examples using AR in an industrial setting, to using the ThingWorx platform to gather movement data and conduct analysis for bilateral amputee Reggie Showers who will be running the Chicago Marathon in a few weeks.

Breakout sessions also mirrored the excitement about IoT and AR seen in the keynotes and in Xtropolis. With over 180 breakout sessions throughout the week, attendees experienced small group training, discussion panels, and received face-to-face time with the leading experts in IoT and AR.
