On June 16th-17th in Boston, ThingWorx held its first annual customer event, LiveWorx – ThingWorx Innovation Exchange. Co-located with PTC Live Global, and welcoming thousands of participants from 30 different states and 17 different countries, the event was undoubtedly a great success. This dedicated Internet of Things conference gained everyone’s attention with superb customer, partner, and industry analyst presentations on IoT innovation, a vibrant expo floor in the IoT Pavilion with customers and partners showcasing their solutions, and excellent opportunities for attendees to network with their peers and IoT leaders. Did I mention there was also a bartending robot?
LiveWorx kicked off Monday morning with a combined keynote presentation featuring PTC’s CEO Jim Heppelmann and President and GM of ThingWorx, Russ Fadel. Following this presentation the audience got to hear how the Internet of Things is impacting a myriad of industries including Smart Agriculture, Smart Manufacturing, and Telecommunications. Additionally Big Data, Analytics, Customer Engagement, Serviceability, and IoT trends were addressed.
Tuesday featured equally impressive topics and presentations. The ThingWorx executive team kicked off the morning with their vision, product roadmap, and an interactive demonstration of the ThingWorx platform not to be outdone by presentations on Connected Transportation, Cars, and Railways, and Connected Industries later that morning. These were then followed by topics on the future for the Internet of Things and the Connected World. These presentations featured ThingWorx customers, partners, and IoT Experts from OnFarm, Vital Herd, Sysmex America, Joy Global, Splunk, LumenData, Machina Research, Verizon Enterprise Solutions, Rogers, Telenor, Salesforce.com, Acumen Solutions, Harbor Research, Devicify, Ericsson, RailComm, ATI Speciality Materials, Cisco, Camgian, All Traffic Solutions, and both PTC and ThingWorx executives.
In between sessions attendees were able to interact with and learn from our LiveWorx sponsors on the exhibit floor. Sponsors included Acumen Solutions, Camgian, Devicify, Telenor, Architech, CSC, Eurotech, ISS Connectivity, KORE, LumenData, Splunk, Systech, TerraXML, and Verizon. Also on the show floor, ThingWorx experts were able to showcase demonstrations of ThingWorx Version 5.0 and many of the new features including:

LiveWorx was a great event and there were a multitude of attendees commenting on the takeaways and fresh ideas they could bring back to their own organizations. The variety in topics and industries offered information for all who attended. The event really held up to its name as an Innovation Exchange and in those two days formed a community of inventive and forward thinking people, all equally excited about the Internet of Things and making their own companies Smart and Connected.
If you couldn’t attend LiveWorx, if you want to share the content with your colleagues, or if you simply want to refresh your memory, you can view all the presentation recordings here.
We hope to see everyone at our next two LiveWorx events in Stuttgart, Germany: November 18th-19th and in Nashville, Tennessee: June 7th-10th. We look forward to building a larger IoT community together.
